Artist Statement
The Australian suburban environment is for me a place where an enchanted subject can be found. In the overlooked and undefined spaces without purpose or function, a wilderness grows with an urgent will to live. My paintings reflect upon how ideology present in the tradition of romantic landscape painting transfers into lived experience of the everyday domestic environment.
