Judy Nunno
Judy Nunno is a lifelong Floridian who was born and raised in Miami, graduated from the University of Florida, and now lives in Weston. She is a self-taught painter who began developing her artistic skills after raising her children and early retirement from her business career. In 2006 Judy took watercolor classes at a community center, and watercolor quickly became her favorite medium with its fluid strokes and luminous colors. Judy paints the things she loves including crystal, fruit, flowers, and people. Her paintings of crystal figurines combined with food and other organic objects have been described as realistic fantasies with a sense of humor. Her paintings and commissioned portraits can be found in homes and businesses in the United States and Canada.
Judy is a signature member of Florida Watercolor Society, secretary of Weston Art Guild, and a member of American Watercolor Society, Gold Coast Watercolor Society, Plantation Art Guild, and Palm Beach Watercolor Society. She has exhibited in many shows and received dozens of awards. She won Honorable Mention in Watercolor Aritist magazine's Annual Watercolor Media Showcase Competition in 2011 and again in 2013. Her painting "A Case of Mistaken Identity" was featured in the February 2013 issue of Watercolor Artist as one of the top 34 watermedia paintings of the year.

"I never planned to be a watercolor painter. A self-taught artist, I began painting in oils as a hobby after early
retirement from my job. Watercolor to me was a difficult and unforgiving medium. Then in 2006 I took a few
watercolor classes at a community center, and I was hooked. I found that painting in watercolors allows me
to create beauty out of ordinary objects using light and shadows. The fluid medium mixes in exciting and
often surprising ways on the paper and lets me paint the fine details that I love to capture.
After a friend told me she wanted to stay a while and visit one of my paintings, I realized that my goal as an
artist is to stir emotion within and bring pleasure to those who view my work. The best compliment is when
someone tells me one of my paintings made them smile. I hope you enjoy viewing my paintings as much as
I enjoyed creating them and that you will want to "stay awhile and visit.""
