A native of Fort Worth, Janda received her bachler of fine arts degree from Texas Christian University. While residing in Mexico for two decades, she studied at the University of the Americas in Mexico City, the Instituto National de Bellas Artes, and Instituto Allende in San Miguel. She also apprenticed at the Enrique Mirala sculpture studio and the Manola Ruiz Ceramic Studio in Mexico City.
Since 1971, Janda has exhibited in many one-person and group shows including a sculpture invitational at the Museo de Arte Moderno in Mexico City and Santa Fe '87 at the Musuem of Fine Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She has also exhibited many galleries between Santa Fe,N.M., Denver,Co., Dallas,Tx. Ft.Worth,Tx.Greenwich,Ct., Irving Art Center in Irving ,Tx.
In 1981 she moved to Santa Fe, N.M.and taught sculpture at the Community College for 5 years as well as ceramics in her own studio gallery. In adition she has also been involved with dance and taught ballet in San Miguel de Allende and Santa Fe,N.M.
Currently she lives in Ft Worth,Tx.. She teaches sculpture basics at Arts Fifth Avenue and privately in home her studio-gallery.
She continues to have a love of dance and uses the theme espcially the Tango in sculpture. She has developed a unique technique for working in direct clay for her figurative pieces. Inspired by bonze pieces as well as Precolumbian hand built clay.
