Miguel Guía
Miguel Guía is a sculptor with great modelling skill. His practical character can be clearly perceived in the creations shown in this collection. His sculptures, far from being stalic, give us a sensation of dynamic balance, based on strengths relation.
Parting from the reality of recognizable objects, his works are shifted by cubist planes, and by deleting the accidental, the no essential, he reaches the extreme schemalism of the shape.
These are works with dramatic strength, very evocative, that notwithstanding their modernity, keep up with a classic order and internal balance which shine through their external skin. Artist in constantly being inspired by the masters he's admiring: Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Eduardo Chillada, Oteiza, Jacques Lipchitz, Alexander Archipenko, Julio González (Maestro de Picasso) and Juan Gris.
